Before the VOTE I am sure many people have already voted but many have not. I just want to know if the candidates have any final thoughts orwords of wisdom before the final vote is done. Perhaps… What do you feel is your biggest asset to the WGA? Thanks.
02/07/2007 at 3:50 pm #1769792Well, I aleady voted, and I would guess most folks have. At any rate, whoever wins, we will have some very good folks on the BOD. The biggest problem I had voting, was narrowing it down to just 6 votes, because there are so many qualified folks running. I hope the well qualified people who should win, but wont because there are only 6 spots open, will continue to be active in WGA and help with some of the committees that I hope WGA sets up. If I am one of the ones who do not win, I know that I will remain active.
I have had the good fortune of caching with 5 of the 11 other people running, and have met 2 of the others on the trail, so know they are good people. Good luck to all of my fellow candidates.

02/07/2007 at 5:03 pm #1769793The voting already started so I don’t see a need to keep “campaigning”.
I will say, we have a great list a of candidates. I think we have more candidates then ever before. I’d like to thank all of those who are willing to run for election, and ultimately donate their time and talents.
The quality of the candidates makes it tough to choose only 6 :).
Good luck to all !
02/07/2007 at 5:42 pm #1769794I need to add Milwaukee County Parks and the Wehr Nature Center to the growing list of Park Departments that have contacted me regarding geocaching and the existence of geocaches in their parks. This was a friendly contact today.
Our new Board of Directors will need to take a pro-active approach to developing these positive relationships with the Park Departments now as geocaching is now definitely on the “radar”. It does put me in a unique position because I can relate to both worlds.

02/07/2007 at 9:45 pm #1769795I’d like to thank everyone in advance for voting! If you voted for me – great. I’m sure regardless of who wins this election, the WGA will be in very capable hands.
I hope to see you on the trails.
Now go brave the cold and find some of my new caches.02/07/2007 at 10:13 pm #1769796I have yet to vote; it is not any easy choice.
I would simply add that there is quite a bit of work that has needs to be done to bring the WGA up to its full potential. I will continue to do everything I can as a Board member to help the WGA achieve everything it should. A strong Association will translate into great geocaching in WI.
Thank you for your vote.
02/08/2007 at 1:44 am #1769797Yes there is no doubt about the fact of how many of the candidates care and will work hard for the WGA. So there is only a WIN WIN on who does win or not. I Thank all that voted for me or any other Candidate as votes are needed and appreciated either way.
I do believe that much work is needed for all to work with their local Park & Rec. Departments. on placing caches, holding CITO events to help keep the parks clean etc. The more Information that can be given to new cachers would help.
I’m sure many new ideas will also be added when all is said and done! Let us all give a big hand to the winners and back them the best we can.
Thank You for your time!
Brian / The Tapps02/08/2007 at 3:15 am #1769798I have already voted, and like stated before, it was tough just due to so many qualified canidates. If you voted for me, I thank you, and Hope that if elected I live up to your expectations, and If I don’t Please don’t hesitate to speak up. Regardless of who wins, I feel that the WGA will be in very capable hands. I look forward to caching with you all, and Wish the best of luck to all of the canidates running.

02/08/2007 at 7:24 pm #1769799To answer your question – I guess the main thing I would bring to the WGA board would be my experience with non-profits and managing large events.
Thanks to whomever nominated me and to everyone who decides to give me one of your votes. I know it is a very tough choice – it took me quite a while to decide how to vote. I just kept changing my mind! No matter how it shakes out, I am excited about the future of the WGA and will stay involved no matter what!
02/09/2007 at 12:02 am #1769800I guess I could say that not only am I one to look at the whole picture, but I think outside of the box, though many see that a waste of time, but it does help to be more creative to things we can do. Also, I like the details and I multi-trask for the fun of it!! LOL
