As of today there is very high fire danger in Polk County (and most of the state). Here is the fire conditions statement:

Due to fire weather conditions, burning is NOT allowed today. Therefore, burning in barrels, debris piles, and grass or wooded areas with your annual permit is prohibited. Campfires, though strongly discouraged, are permitted if used solely for cooking or warming purposes, but please use extreme caution.

If I were going to the campout, I would plan to use a camp stove or charcoal for cooking.

All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.

Charcoal will be provided on Saturday at noon and in the evening.

        Thanks for the update!

I’m only boiling water for my cooking. 🙂
