We will be stationed in a single area and measurements done at that area. So if people want to spread out and fish elsewhere they need to get themselves to the “registration station” to get their lunker measured.
As for where we will be stationed, we’ll keep that mystery until Saturday. 😉
Fish with whatever you want to fish with. We’re providing bait for those who need it or don’t want to have to deal with procuring and packing bait. When you register you’ll indicate if you need bait.
Worms work everywhere I’ve ever fished in Wisconsin.
This is indeed for fun. If it goes the negative route of prior caching event “competitions” expect this to be the last time a fishing derby takes place at a campout. Please keep this activity fun. There are many pretty neat prizes but they’re not worth the price of having fun.

Those images seem suspect to me, same pose, same hat, almost as if some photoshop foul play was involved…so I took the liberty of running the images through a decryption…and found some interesting results…

I’m not too sure about the first two…but the last one seems pretty obvious!
It’s NOT photoshopped! Those are two real photos! It’s just his classic “sit in the front of the canoe and hold up the big bass” pose! I have more photos, different pose. 👿

Did not mean to offend. I just thought it was kind of funny that he looked almost identical in both pictures, and thought I’d crack a joke. I’ll be glad to remove them.
Other than the time we went deep sea fishing, the largest thing I have ever caught might not even qualify as bait for those monsters!
05/19/2011 at 2:10 pm #1948286No offense. If you can’t take some friendly ribbing, you can’t make it in these forums. Believe me… I’ve taken my share of friendly ribbing! 😉
Here are more “proof” photos. One even has Mr. S in one of our older life jackets. Think that one was taken five summers ago. It’s my fish in that one, too, because when I catch a fish and need photos with me in them, we always head towards the shore in case something goes wrong with the camera handoff.

05/20/2011 at 12:25 am #1948288You don’t have to go far. I saw lots of big bass in the lake by the shelter in very shallow water. By the dam looks good too. And also on the north side in the real shallow were big bass too. This was all seen today.
