This Thursday there is an outdoor screening of the movie The Wizard of Oz in Oconomowoc. Believe it or not it is to commemorate the 70th anniversary of it’s premier which took place in Oconomowoc at the Strand Theatre. Hopes were not high for the movie to be a success and that was part of the reason it opened in such a small venue. Two local caches pay tribute to the movie. Return to Oz by the GoldieDiggers and Meet Meinhardt Raabe by Warward Son.

There are city wide events….I thought about holding a geocaching event for the 70th but then I remembered that I’m way too reserved for such a thing. In any case, please do visit town on Thursday night as the party will be grand!

There will be a commemorative plaque placed at the event so you can count me to place a geocache or two based on it.

Oh, considering our name (RUBEESLPR) we are sad that we will not be able to attend the festivities. It is, of course, Mrs. Rubeeslpr’s favorite movie of all times.
