On May 3rd of this year a young man took a pretty bad tumble off of a cliff at Fonferek’s Glen, outside of Green Bay. He was playing paintball with a friend in this county park and accidently went over the side. (I don’t intend to debate the merit of playing unsupervised “paintball”, but obviously this student made a poor choice.)
I just heard again today that another individual took a tumble over the side. I do not know the extent of the injuries (if any).
The reason I post this is because this is a popular caching/hiking area and would just like to remind people to use caution in this area. More than likely there will be increased security and restrictions in the future so caching here might not be allowed anymore (I am speculating of course).
Everyone please be safe. I had a lot of fun at this year’s campout and really want to see ALL of you again next year!
Jeff
I am disappointed to see this. Fongerek’s Glen has been and will remain on our list of favorite caches. The area and the falls are beautiful enough for us to recommend that the cache be on everybody’s must do list. I guess we will need to add a caution to our recommendation.
We certainly wish these two young adventurers a speedy recovery.
