    Well, I actually did find a drill hole. The only problem is, I was being swarmed by mosquitoes (forgot the bug spray!) and didn’t have a chance to fully search the area. I’m almost certain that the hole I found was the third reference mark, but it might actually be the station. All of the stones in the area were covered with moss and I didn’t bring any sort of brush to clean them off with. I couldn’t stand long enough to read the data sheet without getting eaten alive so I didn’t check too closely for other marks.

    I’m not sure where the 1953 CGS group was looking, but this wasn’t anywhere near where a possible garbage dump could have been. It is on the top of the Niagara Escarpment. I can’t imaging dumping garbage at the top of a cliff 😕

    Either way, I’m still excited to make this find, even if it was only a reference mark!
