Just thought I’d point out that cachers in the greater LaCrosse area could score four souvenirs with one stop if they want to hike around Bice Forest near Melrose. In particular, the California/Wisconsin exchange, gc 39840, has several folks in California who have the final coordinates and are waiting to hear from cachers in our area. Just contact one of them ahead of time for their coordinates and you’re off and running. Several letterboxes, a couple puzzles, a multi cache and some traditionals. Except for the Birkie Wannabe letterbox, all are on the lower trails. As always, we are happy to help with any of our puzzles. There are also some challenges if you qualify for any of them.
We will probably never forget the day we spent there hiking with you. This is one on those places that you love and hate at the same time. I still can’t believe that we did all of the caches there in what, 3 or 4 hours. The trip there still ranks in the top ten of our most memorable geocaching days. If you want to challenge yourself and feel rewarded at the same time this is a good place to go.
As a side note the California cachers that we traded coordinates with have become good online friends. We’re looking forward to meeting them at the Cache Ba$h next weekend.
