I counted 3 to 4 permanent ones depending where on the border of Doctors Park starts. Picked up some bug head nets today, so we are good to go. Anyone know what vendors will be there for food?

We’re planning on bringing a picnic lunch. We’ve already spent enough just to get in, and who knows if the food vendors are part of the “fundraiser” or not.

I put another map on my site. It was tough scaling it to Google Earth. You can kind of see where the other 4 “GC” caches are. At least now you can see trails. I’m guessing they’ll have something there as well to use.

The Fox6 site mentions a logbook each cacher gets. I assume each cache has a unique stamp to prove you were there. Let’s hope it’s nicely done up like the WGA events.

The beast was flying solo here today. There was a good crowd, perhaps 100 or more. I met the5xplorers as I arrived, and later uplifting dragon. Vince was there in his usual great spirits and it was good to finally meet Jim Hyatt. There will be nothing added to our cache counts for this effort, but that isn’t why I went. It was just a great opportunity to meet so many newbies that really want to know more about the sport.

Thanks, Jim, Vince and Audubon for a nice little escape. ~tb

Yup. It was fun. I just got home myself. Team SammyClaws and I were the first ones to get the coin. Funny, we took many detours (lunch, 4 GC caches, potty breaks, trip to the beach, etc.) and still took the FTF(?). I admit is was a little weird having a video camera follow us when we started. Look for a cameo appearance by the SammyClaws Family. Vince said most likely tonight or tomorrow night, and definitely a larger clip on Monday. If you have pictures, he’d like to see them.

It was pretty fun helping out first-timers who didn’t know how to enter coordinates. SammyClaws also had the foresite to print extra maps for lost geocachers.

I’m definitely doing this again next year! 😀

Didn’t see Vince, didn’t see too many people at all. We did however, follow 9 turkeys down the trail for quite a while before they decided to look for some food in the brush. Had a great time. Would have found all the caches if the heat didn’t get to me like it did… or maybe it was my blood sugar that was too low. I knew it was time to quit when I started shaking and started getting dizzy. I made it back to the road and some nice man that was driving the golf cart around gave me a lift back to the center to get some sugar and to cool off. THANK YOU!!! whoever you are. A real big THANK YOU to all the people at the center. I had several people asking if I was ok and if I needed anything. It just gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to know that there are some really good people out there. When I watch the news, I wonder sometimes if there are any good people left… now I can definitely say “Yes, there are.”

Yeah, Vince was there off and on. I think he went out looking for some of the caches.

He said 160 people signed up and were out caching. That was a good sign that people are picking up this new hobby. So, look for future “Caching With Condella” caches in the near future.

I’ll post pictures as soon as I get them all.

We just got home from CacheFest too. Found all 30 and had a good time. Had a nice chat with Vince while we ate our picnic lunch. Did anyone else get swarmed by the flies on the North and Terrace loops? Man, they were bad! We’ll be watching for those video clips.

Yeah, I have to admit, that my jaw dropped when they said we were the first to finish even after we hiked into the next park to get some additional caches. Sounds like they are going to make this a GC.com event next year. The kids have already put their request in to attend. Many thanks to the SANC staff for this event
