Does anyone know of free software that allows you to download tracks? How about free software that also allows you to merge a jpg of a map with your own coords (like we do for event maps.)
ExpertGPS does this, but a friend is looking for something he wouldn’t have to pay for.
Not great for dial-up users, but USAPhotomaps does this well, and offers both USGS topo maps or satellite photos. I’ve been using it for a few years and think it’s the best FREE thing on the market.
