Just a note–We’d made plans to go after this one with drhass this morning, but with all the rain recently, the river was running pretty high. No visible sandbars, which is not the norm on this stretch. Also, Pa Ruby heard that some kids had to be rescued from swift current along the caching route, so….although that cache is sitting there awaiting our landing, we decided to put it off till the water goes down. Just mentioning this in case anyone planned to travel some distance for it. Might be good to ask someone from the area first.
Dr. Bigstick from down your way gave me a hint about this cache…. you don’t necessarily have to canoe to this cache. I personally hiked to it, but I also hit it in the winter time. I couldn’t imagine hiking to it now.
I had read all that, but we want to canoe. If you’ve seen it lately, it might even be tough to bike/hike to at the moment. We’re hoping it was on high enough ground to not wash away. We plan to be on the water as soon as the sandbars reappear!
