Garmin 76s, edit startup text, software needed

Greetings all!

I have a trusty Garmin GPSmap 76s that I’ve had for several years. Some time time ago (2+ years) I downloaded a program that let me change the text on the disclaimer screen to whatever I wanted. I have my name, address & phone # there. Now I have a new phone number and want to change the screen text. I can’t find the software to do it.

Can anyone direct me to a source for the program I’m seeking?

I’ve never used this software myself as all the newer garmins you can edit the startup(welcome) screen from within one of the menus, though I’m sure this is what you are looking for.

I also read online that garmin added the ability to change this screen on some models, you just need to download the most current firmware & update your unit.
I don’t know if your unit is one of the ones that got this new feature, but I read an old post(from 2002) on the geocaching.com forum that they added this to the old vista, so I would assume that a more expensive unit like your 76s might have got the upgrade as well.
