I am looking for a combo cigarette lighter power cord/ serial cable with the round 4 prong plug for either my GPS V or GPS III.
I have an extra power only cigarette lighter plug and or dash mount for trade or cash. I can get one shipped on eBay for like $16.50.
02/13/2005 at 2:36 pm #1750981Have you ever bought from Gilsson Tech? I bought a combo cord from them and it works great…plus was way cheaper than the Garmin one they wanted $35 for at Gander Mountain & Scheels.

Compatible Garmin GPS Models
Garmin GPS II/+, GPS III/+, GPS III Pilot, GPS V/Deluxe,: $12.70
02/13/2005 at 4:02 pm #1750982That be the same one, but he is one of the 2 big sellers of this cable on eBay. I imagine with shipping and insurance the price will be within pennys.
The next couple of days I am going to mess around with the lap top now that I have MapSource loaded with all of the caches I have not found in a 70 mile radius.
Where have you been hiding Kaili? It’s been quiet in the Valley this Winter.
02/14/2005 at 1:10 am #1750983I ordered a 12v AC adapter/combo cable from garmin’s site for my Garmin GPS III about 6 months ago. We have a power inverter in the car to plug the laptop and GPS into so I didn’t want to have a cigarette lighter adapter. This way we can use it in any wall outlet also
Garmin has that for $45: http://shop.garmin.com/accessory.jsp?sku=010%2D10277%2D00
I’m sure it could be found somewhere else cheaper.
I picked up a 300WATT power inverter at walmart for 30$ a few years ago. I think the prices have gone down for those too.
I know it’s not exactly what you’re looking for, but I know it’s nice being able to plug the GPS into a wall outlet is convient

of The Cacheseekers02/14/2005 at 4:55 am #1750984I bought a 100 watt converter from WalMart for $17. I figure that’s good enough for the laptop. I have a second power outlet on my dash that will work OK for the GPS combo cable. I think I will just pay the $16 or $17 shipped from eBay.
02/14/2005 at 5:09 am #1750985Ahh.. yeah. I just hooked up a power strip to have more outlets Kind of silly it having only 1 outlet built in it.
02/15/2005 at 4:50 am #1750986I bought one shipped for $16.74. I should have got an external antenna for $19 more.
