I have decided I just have to have the latest and greatest Garmin Oregon 550…but unless I want to head over to divorce court I will need to sell my slightly used Oregon 300. It’s a few months old and has between 100 and 200 finds (50ish were found on one day and 30ish on another day…which means I used it about 2 dozen times). It is in like new shape with no visible scratches or blemishes. I have all the original materials and box (including the $500 REI price tag).

These now sell new on Amazon for $350 so that is what I’m asking for it….why would I expect to get that much for my slightly used unit? Well, my good friend Johnny Waypoint has allowed me to also include either his old Garmin Vista or an SD card with Garmin’s Navigator NT 2009.

The Vista is a trusty unit that saw 500 finds…it works perfectly though it does have some nicks to the body (the screen is in great shape). I will load it with a mapset local to the buyers area; the memory will hold most of the state). It does not get a signal quite as well as today’s new units but it is good as a back up or for the kids to bang around.

Navigator NT 2009….well it is what it is.

$400 takes everything.(which BTW is still cheaper than the unit + the price of the software)

…a note on the Oregon series: You should be comfortable with using windows files on the computer as the units require you to plug it in and work within a windows environment to add delete geocaches.

Please PM me if interested…local buyers are preferred as I’d rather pass the unit along face to face.

I don’t know if you like to do this but you can return the unit to REI and they will exchange the 300 for the 550 plus what ever the cost difference is. They will do this with no questions asked. I did it when I changed over from the Colorado to the Oregon. I did not like the way the Colorado was fuctioning. At that time I had the Colorado for about eight months. I may do the same to upgrade to the 550 because of the camera, the screen is suppose to be better and the three axis compass is an upgrade from the 400t. Just a thought for you to consider.

I did consider this but they now sell the unit for $100 less than what I bought it for…do you think they will give me the full credit for which I paid? If so it will be just about an even trade…

If you still have the receipt it will be for that price. Without it then it would be for what they are selling for now.

Maybe I will go that route…the screen could be a little brighter…I guess 100% satisfaction guarantee means 100%. I think with the screen I’m only 90% satisfied. Also I have spent thousands at REI…

    Sale closed.

However the Vista is up for grabs if anyone is interested….make me an offer.
