Is this a Commercial Cache? π
Why, yes it is!
Bec
I can assure you that they asked Groundspeak for permission before they submitted it to the site!
02/13/2008 at 3:11 am #1884374I know it is a GC.com approved thing, just find it interesting who they allow and don’t.
Just so we make sure this thread does not turn into a wild discussion, I made the comment just to make sure it was clear.
As requested I did the Milwaukee thing to help those who are interested get one as well. I think only 23 from my last count probably wonΓ’β¬β’t cut it.
02/14/2008 at 1:58 pm #1884375Make that 30! Yeah, we are in IL, but who doesnt want to see TWO Groundspeak Events… and, I hate driving in Chicago. :p
Carpool from the IL/WI Border anyone? I hear parking rates down there are crazy!
02/17/2008 at 11:47 pm #1884376I’ve contacted the Philco Company and we’re going to host a Philco Problematic Event. A rep from Philco will be there to fill everyone in on the new features of the newest (1964) Philco Problematic GPSr. π
02/18/2008 at 5:49 pm #1884377Incidentally, in case you were confused by the cache page (like I was), the event is NOT in the middle of Michigan Avenue, regardless of where the coordinates are. A bit to the east of the listed coordinates is the Chicago Garmin Store. That is location for the event!

Nope, I go to where my Garmin GPS takes me. I will be standing proudly in the middle of Michigan Avenue. π

Well the good news is that the location appears to be in a crosswalk, so you are a little less likely to get run over by a bus. Say only a 99% chance instead of the 100% chance in the middle of the block. By the way, I think you should buy your new GPS and then hand it to me while you go to “attend” the event. π

02/24/2008 at 6:09 pm #1884381Let’s see ..
Parking $26.00
Tolls paid via Ipass $2.50
Gas $28
Getting caught in the Chicago 4:30 PM traffic while attempting to leave town
Having dinner at a food court in an OasisOpportunity to meet Jeremy
Hands on use of the Garmin Colorado unit with Shauna with just The Tapps Sr, Jr, Gr8 Eyes and myselfTo each receive a 07 Lackey Geocoin AND the Garmin Colorado Geocoin (even Tapps Jr – which really made his day to have his “own” geocoins)
The experience was awesome!!
Per Jeremy himself, definitely put out a demand to bring it to Wisconsin. They would like to travel around this year to bring this experience to everyone.
Oh and, yea, The Tapps being the Magellan user .. Groundspeak has been trying to work with Magellan as well without much success.
