Wife filled up in the Cities for $1.98.
11/08/2008 at 4:18 am #1759716After reading these gas prices, and applying what we’ve experienced over the last few monthes, I have reached some conclusions:
Car owners would always talk about what it cost to “fill-up”.
It finally got so expensive that they would only put in $x amount of dollars each time they stopped for fuel (say $20).
They would figure out how to stretch that $20 of gas instead of driving until the next “fill-up” was needed.
We are now evaluating our driving needs and still putting in the same $20, but we are getting more fuel for the money while not doing any unnecesary driving. If we want to keep these prices in check, we need to keep these good gas budgeting practices going. We were forced to do it, but if we do it by choice, we can keep the price managable and get in alot more caching!
Isn’t that the point, after all? (Saw $2.19 today)
11/09/2008 at 5:18 am #175971776th and Good Hope in Milwaukee was at 2.09 this morning.
11/09/2008 at 2:23 pm #1759718Wausau area now $2.25.
11/10/2008 at 2:42 am #1759719$2.07 in Milwaukee. I also saw it for $2.59 at another station. Go figure.
11/12/2008 at 1:44 am #1759720Got gas in Wild Rose today for $2.16, seven cents less than at home–CHEAP!
11/12/2008 at 2:28 am #1759721$1.91 in the Twin Cities yesterday. Still 2.28 in Eau Claire though.

11/12/2008 at 3:00 am #1759722$2.12 In Appleton, and $2.15 in Green Bay.
11/12/2008 at 10:38 pm #1759723$2.06 in Royalton, west of New London.
11/13/2008 at 1:45 am #1759724$1.82 south of Indianapolis yesterday and alabama, georgia and south carolina all had gas under $2 today.
Another few days and we should be under it too I hope.
11/13/2008 at 1:46 am #1759725The Milwaukee Journal had an article about the first sub-$2.00 gas seen here in quite some time:
http://www.jsonline.com/newswatch/34337359.html
Woodman’s in Oak Creek, $1.99 / gallon
It’s $2.05 or below in many places here on the south side of the Milwaukee metro area. With oil prices falling again today, prices below $2 could be everywhere by Thanksgiving…

The Woodmans price is cash only.

Thanks! They failed to mention that in the article… I’m glad I didn’t make a detour there for the cheaper gas only to find that out.
11/13/2008 at 2:17 am #1759728Gas was 2.09 a gallon today in Appleton…
11/13/2008 at 2:39 am #1759729Actually there’s a station in Appleton down the street from me that dropped from 2.09 to 2.06 today.
The dropping is sloowwing down but it’s still going in the right direction!!!
