GC.com change to logging events

GC.com has taken out the “Found It” option for events and replaced it with “Will Attend” and “Attended”. It seems most people discussing this on the Groundspeak forum like the change and don’t feel you should get extra smilies for the temp caches anyway. But I like the way I’ve always seen it done around here: a smiley for attending and one for each temp cache found.

So what do you guys think? Should we just start doing multiple “Attended” logs now??? That would look a little wierd, but the net effect would be the same I guess.

At the last event I attended, I marked “attended” for the event, then used “found it”s for each temp cache.

I just went to the GC forums and checked an event. The Found It log is gone from events, but the Attended log counts the same as the Found It. So It sounds like to log the caches we would have to use the Attended log.

In the forums all I could find were people whining that temp event caches don’t meet the GC.com criteria, so they shouldn’t be logged as finds. Which is kind of funny because I always thought it was the cache owner that decides what will or will not count as a find. It also reminded me why I avoid the GC forums.

Right – that option is available for the CITO events, but not regular events. Doesn’t make sense to me.
