…. like within the past few minutes!
07/23/2008 at 9:36 pm #1892545Looks great from what I have seen so far.
07/23/2008 at 11:07 pm #1892546HOT STUFF!
I entered a search for “Freistadt, WI” and the return was almost instant. How cool is that? 😮
07/23/2008 at 11:12 pm #1892547Freistadt, WI
Was the response “Where?”
07/23/2008 at 11:29 pm #1892548Seems like a pretty big site update from the release notes on the Groundspeak forums. Lot’s of small little changes and they don’t even mention “look and feel” in the release notes, just all the “bugs” they fixed which many sound like typos, grammar errors, contact info changes, etc. Oh and it sounds like they streamlined the process for them to earn revenue 😉
Lot’s of nice additions but already some feedback on the realease note thread regarding items that people are not happy about.
For instance, the “friends” functionality (which I dont use) no longer display hide/find counts.
I don’t envy the folks that maintain that site….

07/23/2008 at 11:59 pm #1892549In case anybody is looking for it, the “My Inventory” section is now at the very bottom of the “My Account” page. The beta testers were all carping about this, but so far, they haven’t moved it back to the top menu. Otherwise, I think they did a good job on this upgrade. To see some of the upgraded pages, take a look at “Getting Started”.
07/24/2008 at 1:01 am #1892550Is it just me or did I stop receiving emails when I post to a cache I own??
Anyone else notice this?
07/24/2008 at 1:49 am #1892551I can’t get the pages to load! 😯
07/24/2008 at 2:06 am #1892552Just a few min’s ago I was fine now I can’t get anything. I also saw I was logged out from GC.com.
07/24/2008 at 2:09 am #1892553Yeah.. all new and snazzy and now it’s down for maintenance. sheesh!!
07/24/2008 at 2:14 am #1892554Looks like their web server is down.
07/24/2008 at 2:29 am #1892555But I can access everything else on the sight but the cache pages.
07/24/2008 at 2:56 am #1892556It won’t accept my log in right now.
What a surprise to see the new look. Hope it’s not like some other sites I visit that have changed their offerings to include more bells and whistles, and now with our dial-up, it takes so long to find what I want that some of those are hardly worth using. (One is an online newspaper–may as well by the thing in it’s 20th century format.)
07/24/2008 at 4:06 am #1892557The problem I’m having with it is that the listings, or any page, like our profile, is far wider than my screen allows me to display. Scrolling sideways doesn’t help. So if I want to see my caches, like how many earthcaches and puzzles and so on, I can’t even see that tab to click it. It cuts me off in the middle of the “trackables” tab.
Are they assuming everyone has those nice big monitors? Cause we don’t. Hopefully it will all work out in a day or two. It does look as if there are some nice new features.
07/24/2008 at 12:57 pm #1892558they added a mapping feature also. Looks decent enough but it only goes from home cords to cache. I figure since i dont want to come home between each cache I will keep using my Nuvi and listening to “recalculating”
