The best part about WAP, and it’s all I use it for, is that on the occasion GC.com is down, WAP is always working.

I wanted to get in the WAP door too so I clicked on it, but… I don’t get it??? 🙁 I use a Palm so what is this for?

LDove … what others have neglected to make totally clear … use of WAP … in this case the website: wap.geocaching.com … requires that you PalmPilot is ABLE to surf the web. Not all PalmPilots can.

So IF your PalmPilot has wireless ability to connect to the internet (when your at a WIFI spot/location, as others have mentioned) … simply go to the website: WAP.GEOCACHING.COM … the rest will make sense at that point … it’s all about having a simple, non-graphical version of the geocaching website … thus the WAP instead of WWW.

There are other sites that works this way too … I believe WAP.GOOGLE.COM is one of them.

they added a mapping feature also. Looks decent enough but it only goes from home cords to cache. I figure since i dont want to come home between each cache I will keep using my Nuvi and listening to “recalculating”

I checked the route to my recently placed cache (GC1DP70) in The Gander Mtn. Forest Preserve just south of Wilmot Wi., it displayed what would not be my preferred route…. Also when viewing the satellite image of the route, it ends up in the driveway of a very expensive looking home just north of Il. Rte. 173… 😳 …

Question for those with dial-up. Is it just me, or does it seem that some pages are taking a little longer to load from GC? Maybe they are just a bit busier, but it doesn’t seem to matter if it is afternoon, evening, or later at night. Or am I just imagining this?

dial up??? dial up??? who has dial up anymore………

    oh, yeah, I do 😀

everything takes forever with dialup, and a slow processor

I still have dial up too. If I had loftier goals I would probably make the switch, but I’m happy with our 50 per month average. I’m thinking more of spending my money for something in the field rather than at the desk.

Then there are those that have wireless like me.

Paid for by you or by Mom & Dad????

Me, I have much to much other stuff to put my money toward.
House, Food, Gas……. If I was on my own, maybe I could live out of my car. 😕
