At last, a date and location have been chosen for the WGA summer 2005 picnic:

    (drum roll, please)

    Saturday, August 13, 2005
at the Greenbush shelter in the Northern Kettle Moraine Forest

    Map: http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/land/parks/specific/kmn/PDFs/greenbushc.pdf

Watch for an event cache page to go online soon. Volunteers will be needed to help organize things and/or place temporary caches for the event. If you’d like to help, please post a note here.

Greenbush is a beautiful area with miles and miles of hiking (geocaching) trails. The NKMF superintendent has granted permission for our event and they’re looking forward to having us there. This will be a rain or shine event. We’re looking forward to seeing you there.

Is that THE Greenbush, like only 45 minutes away from me! What will I do with all the extra gasoline in my car? Depending on some things falling together, I MIGHT be able to help out with some of the hides or something.

ABOUT 2.5 miles south of Greenbush, WI.
ABOUT half-way between Fond du Lac and Sheboygan.

I don’t know the “real” coordinates, as the facility does not show on my map software, but it should be APROXIMATELY N43 44.865 W88 06.193 , based on information from the link supplied on this message subject.

This is another map, that shows the area better … http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/land/Forestry/StateForests/kmnumap.pdf
(Look for the “Old Wade House” slightly right of center at the top of the map, then go down from there)

Anne and I will most likely camp if we can make arrangements for dogs and kids…!! We just have to make it to this one since we missed the actual campout this year…

I’d also volunteer for cache placing or, whatever else is needed!!!

Team Flushingrouse will go “all in” for this event!!

I’ll need to stay overnight, but I haven’t decided if it will be in a tent or Trudy camping. What campsite are you looking at? Greenbush is group camping. Were you trying to get enough people for there?

I would definitely be interested in group camping! Keep me posted on it!

Hotdogs are up for camping Fri/Sat nites, so we’re open to sharing a site. Look forward to seeing the “new” FlushingGrouse team member.

This sounds like a fun time. I would also be interested in camping information.
