Just curious if anyone has noticed any kind of pattern about his reviewing schedule? I honestly am amazed that this guy reviews EVERY earthcache in the world and presumably still has a life. Sometimes it seems like they come out really quickly after I submit them, and other times……I submitted my new one on Wednesday and am still waiting patiently.
Not complaining, just wondering if anyone has noticed better days or whatever to submit for quick approval.
03/14/2008 at 1:23 pm #1886290I always had the feeling that Mondays were a big day for his approvals although I have had ECs approved on other days as well. Also I think that is a shared account as I have dealt with another person in addition to “Geoaware.”

Geoaware has an assistant that steps in when he is not available. She publishes under the Geoaware id as well.

Cave areas are very sensitive. For this reason EarthCaches developed around caves in North America will go through an additional approval stage with the National Speleological Society to ensure that research and other factors are not being affected by people visiting the cache.I pulled this text from the FAQs on the earthcache site. It might explain why my new one is taking longer to be approved. I did submit it as a cave/karst feature, which it is. I was kind of hoping it would be available for interested searchers by the weekend, but I guess another week won’t matter!
03/15/2008 at 7:19 am #1886293I got to chat on line with geoaware a while back. He is pretty much into just Earthacaches and not so much as finding but approving them. Last look at his profile, he has only found 35 geocaching total. He is originally from Austrailia, but living in Colorado now. As for how he approaches the approvals, I know he does give up to 10 days for approval. He must take one day, like Mondays, to do his thing. With more coming out, he may be looking for help. I should drop him a note again.
04/03/2008 at 1:40 am #1886294Just a update:
I was chatting back and forth with geoaware and asked how the process was going and if he was still doing everything on his own. Here was his response.
“I now have a team of two working on Earthcaches…me and Anny. Anny is just fantastic and is keeping on top of the approvals and I deal with
the crazys, politics and problems (and Earthcache Masters)…so at the
moment we are doing great.”So, with 2 people the approval should go smooth. As for the EC approver to GC.com….things should go smooth enough. As long the GC.com website doesn’t have issues!! As for WI Approvers, they will still oversee any issues with EC’s in SNA that were not approved of properly.
