Simple Question: What are the qualities of a great geocache?

    1. Caches with no spelling erroors (qualties = qualities)

    2. Fairly accurate coordinates (when applicable)

    3. An interesting hide location (never using a so-so spot, when there is a cool one 40 feet away, I hate that)

    4. Some interesting text on the GC listing page, that ties the Title to the cache (leave off a list of the original cache contents, unless there’s a good reason to list the items)

    5. Some slightly sneaky or intriguing in the listing that only makes sense when you get out in the woods

    6. A container that will last

    7. The most important an owner that will keep an eye on the cache and monitoring the comments of others and respond to them

I like #5. Something really clever about the name or the description that makes absolutely no sense until after you find the cache. I spent this afternoon doing a nice multi called “The Boss’s First Cache”. The name made a lot more sense after I realized that I was was walking around in Asbury Park…

For me, a great cache has 8 to 10 of these attributes
    A good cache has 5 to 7

    1. An awesome location

    2. A good hike

    3. Middle of Nowhere

    4. Teaches the history of an area

    5. A Nature lesson

    6. Muggle-Free location

    7. Straight-forward hints

    8. Interesting method of hide

    9. Quality cache container

    10. An awesome location!

    What Cathunter said.

If you hunted any of mine you probably know I like devious, but not ridiculous, hides. The kind that make you slap your head because you were staring at it all along.

Of course sharing a neat location is always good.
