I just thought I would pass along to my other fellow diehard Wisconsin geocachers of what I (Betty) did this past weekend. I thought you might get a kick out of how dedicated some of us geocachers are to the sport…
Just before we were leaving to head to a wedding in Illinois, it dawned on me…”Wait a minute. This wedding is taking place in a county park. I’ll do a quick check and see if there’s a geocache in there.” Well, what do you know, my GPS lead us right to that park! So, after the ceremony and during the reception, I got a few interested relatives to join me and headed down the trail all dressed up with high heels and all! Even my boys had their dress clothes on! Well, after a little search, we found the geocache and headed back to the reception before too many people noticed us missing in action!
Boy, the memories geocaching has provided us!

Great story. Hopefully the photographer caught some of the hunt on film.

On Sunday my youngest daughter had her bridal shower in Hubbard Park (Milwaukee) and I had a bit of assistance from the Beast in finding out there was a cache in the park.
Before the shower was over I took half the guests on an quick geocache to Bookworm Cache.
While we were there a lady and what was most likely her daughter were walking around the park taking lots of notes AND she had on a Geocaching shirt – think there is another cache soon to be in Hubbard Park?
I will stop short of telling you what my wife said when I pulled out my GPS.06/03/2003 at 12:24 pm #1745382See…I just knew I wasn’t the only one!
06/03/2003 at 1:17 pm #1745383Sound like you had good reception
06/04/2003 at 1:14 am #1745384You know you have it bad when you have some place to go and you check to see if there is a cache near-by!

About a year and a half ago, Thraxman and I made a trip to St. Louis to do some caching and one of the hunts we chose was a multi that was put together by a guy who used it to propose to his girlfriend. The original log at the last waypoint (which was at a very scenic and, of course, romantic location) started out with “will you marry me?”. What a way to get your future spouse to have a soft spot for your favorite hobby. -
