UPDATE!!??
Just a FYI for all the lazy cachers. (Most of my friends, hehe)
We are in process of loading all HHAA coordinates on a couple laptops, one to be available at DOC. s event on Saturday and one to be available at the event headquarters (E. P. Rock Elementary School) to load Garmin GPSrs. (Sorry as that is the only interface cables we have)

01/29/2008 at 8:30 pm #1883698It looks like while my wife is spending the day scrapbooking, the kids and I will be able to attend on Saturday. Is there any way of having the caches’ coordinates posted on this site (or even e-mailed)????
01/29/2008 at 10:31 pm #1883699Is this event listed on geocaching.com?

02/02/2008 at 12:23 am #1883702Hey all,
If you are on the fence about this event, plan on attending. I did 4 of the 12 event caches this morning, and they are in great spots, very kid friendly, and loaded with lots of kid stuff. Hard to know how many of them will be eventually listed on gc.com, but based on my sampling, and looking where the others are located, it looks to me that about 9 of em are in legal spots and I am sure DB and Spike will get em listed on gc.com in a few weeks. (You would have to ask them for the exact number, but 9 is my best guess.) Lots of fun caches, and 700 bucks in prizes to boot.
Also, today Doc. released 9 new caches very close to where the event will be held today. I went and found em pretty much right after they came out, and it was a great walk to grab 9, all within spitting distance of Doc’s event. The 9 placed by Doc and listed today by gc.com wont excite the kids as much, but number fiends should like em. (Not that I know any number fiends.)
Anyway, hope to see ya in Hudson tommorrow.

02/02/2008 at 1:57 am #1883703I get to Hudson a few times a year so I will be catchin these either later this month or next…wish I could be there….that said I can’t believe all the new caches in River Falls it has easily tripled since I was last there about a year ago…it looks like that area is in good hands.
02/03/2008 at 2:19 am #1883704Friday and Saturday saw a ton of activity at these fun family friendly caches.
Only one day left of the event to grab 12 easy ammo boxes – great swag and a chance at super door prizes.
Like Bob Barker would say “COME ON DOWN!”
DOC.02/03/2008 at 2:34 am #1883705This is/was a great event. Great work on this one by Doc, Da Bloodhound and Spike.
Robin and I took her 2 young sons cachin today to the kid friendly ammo boxes Spike and DB put out. Lots of kid swag, and lots of good spots found to stash em. Lots of new people seen on the trails cachin too, so this was great in promoting geocaching in the Hudson area.
Again thanks to Doc, DB, and Spike! Way to go guys.

02/03/2008 at 2:39 am #1883706Our family had a great time at this event! Our kids have learned to hate micros so all the ammo cans were a nice touch. I was amazed at how many people were there as it seemed that we were with cachers at every cache! It was nice to meet many cachers even though I was a little late to the borderline insanity event. It was great getting some caching done after hardly doing any for most of this winter so far! We will be trying to attend more events because of experiences like today. Thanks Doc (and everyone else) for organizing a memorable event.
02/04/2008 at 3:16 am #1883707A great big THANKS to all that participated in the first HHAA – Geocaching Bash.
I’m sure we will do it again next year. Probably a little bigger and a whole lot better.
Spike007 and I looked at this year’s placements and have decided to submit ten (10) caches to gc.com. Watch for HHAA-event name caches soon. No need to make a second trip if you found’um during the event, just write your log and claim a smiley. Records show team Hike and Seek beat everyone to the punch at 7:00 am Friday for ALL the FTFs – Nice job.
DB02/05/2008 at 3:45 am #1883708From what we can tell, the intro class at the Hot Air Affair and the caches placed as part of the Affair were a solid success. DB did a great job in talking to the folks in attendance while Joe Cactus and I tried to get the WiFi working. (Well – it seems it was shut off for the weekend!) We answered alot of questions afterwards and hopefully got some people fired up about geocaching.
We’ll be picking up the ammo cans this week and replacing most of them with permanent caches as DB mentions. The HHAA owns the containers, so we’ll store them till next year and use them to put out a series of hides for the event – always the first weekend in February.
Thanks much to everyone who went out and grabbed some caches and hopefully some fun along the way (good luck in the drawing!). We should know what sort of participation we had after the forms are in – probably sometime next week.
02/20/2008 at 12:11 pm #1883709Just a note to all those that participated in the Hudson Hot Air Affair Geocaching Bash: Ten of the twelve event caches have been published as permanents. If you found these during the three day event there is no need to revisit them simply log in those found. To access the list type HHAA into “keyword” and they will all come up, five by Spike007 and five by Da Bloodhound.
GREAT time was had by all…………….see ya next year! 😆 😆 😆
DOC.02/20/2008 at 1:01 pm #1883710Do you have any idea how many people participated?
Did any WGA cachers win prizes?
Thanks again for all your efforts here! This was one geocaching event that my family will have no objections to attending next year.
