With the bulk of unfound caches becoming further and further away from home, camping out is becoming the best way to go. Besides, who doesn’t like sitting around a great campfire?

Many great campsites are in small county parks or even private land, that one isn’t likely to come across by accident. Geocaching has helped me to find several of these places, but of course, the more, the better!

Surely, our members know where there are many more. How about it? Know of a cool WI campground? Where is it? What do you like about it? Does it have a website? It would be great to get a good list going here.

Anyone interested in cachehunting in the Racine area might want to check out Cliffside Park in the northeast part of the county. I camped out there last night and enjoyed hiking on the trails, especially near the lake bluffs. I woke up this morning to the hooting of a couple of owls. Who knows….may be another cache popping up here in the next week or so.

Bear Lake Campground in Manawa, WI is a beautiful campground that Amy and I have stayed at many times over the years. Nice, quiet, beautiful. Located right in Central, WI – access to many caches. Bridget Conroy is one of the owners and one of the nicest people we have ever met…

Also – the RAFT-N-REST Campground up in Langlade, WI is a great place to go and camp as well.

12 foot falls campground near Peshtigo is one of our favorites. Lots of waterfalls and caches nearby.
