It’s frustrating, but it just gives us an opportunity to re-visit some of our BC interests, LOL. You know……you can hike in the woods with a pair of binoculars and don’t even have to look for a cache? It’s true!
Plus, I have this baby afghan that needs to be finished pronto!

I saw an awesome Wisconsin birding book yesterday….I so wanted to buy it….but alas I had to buy dress clothes instead….(but the new clothes really don’t go with my yellow hat). As a further aside I tore my shirt pretty good attempting a cache on the way to the store so there I was trying on sportcoats in a ripped t-shirt…what a smuck. But on the plus side I can now tell the difference between a Sandhill Crane and a Great Blue Heron. Where was I, oh other things to do….I guess there are some.
08/10/2009 at 5:50 pm #1905739As of this post, not working again. Good thing my PQ’s came in the e-mail this morning. Running them through GSAK then going to Iron Mountain to hit a few caches there that I DNF’ed last time I was there.
Finally gonna end my geo-slump today (been 7 days now – lol)
08/12/2009 at 6:32 pm #1905740Anyone getting their notifications or PQ’s from GC.Com? I have not gotten notifications or PQ’s since Monday and I use Roadrunner e-mail.
08/12/2009 at 6:39 pm #1905741No problems here.
08/12/2009 at 7:05 pm #1905742Well, I set up a gmail account and have one notification sent to it to see what happens. I have Door County in my radius and it’s an active area, so we’ll see what happens.
08/12/2009 at 10:01 pm #1905743‘Shore ’nuff, the gmail account works. Right after I set up notifications to my gmail account, it appeared right away. I wonder if Road Runner blocked the notifications.

08/13/2009 at 5:42 am #1905749From the grounspeak forums
On Wednesday August 12th, 2009 at 8:00 PM Pacific Time (GMT -7), we’ll be applying some software updates to our core network switches to isolate and solve a stability issue. During this time, all Groundspeak web sites and services will be off line.
While we’re not anticipating any issues, this maintenance could take up to 2 hours.
Thanks,

FYI – It seems back up

I was having the same problems with my Road Runner e-mail account. GC.com indicated the PQ was sent to me at 12:08am (PST) this morning but no PQ was in my inbox. I tried sending another PQ to my wife’s Road Runner e-mail account and ran into the same problem. After reading your thread, I set up a free gmail account and my PQ showed up within a few minutes.
Thanks for posting your experience for the benefit of the WGA community!!
