In case you haven’t caught the announcement elsewhere below is the text from the Groundspeak blog regarding tonight’s outage.
Geocaching.com is upgrading the infrastructure of the website to provide geocachers with increased site performance, security and room to expand.
All Groundspeak sites and services including Geocaching.com, the Groundspeak Forums, Pocket Queries, Geocaching Mobile Applications for the iPhone, Windows Phone 7 and Android devices along with other 3rd party applications that utilize our API will be inaccessible during the upgrade process.
The outage is schedule to begin Tuesday, December 14th at 8:00pm PST (GMT -8). The site is expected to be down for approximately six hours.
Well… it look like I’m going to learn how the Recent Log harvester works… 😕 It seems to break with nearly every update.
When I first read the title I thought it said “Outrage” not “Outage” and kind of chuckled to myself. The programmers axim of “No upgrade goes unpunished.” came to mind.
I’m actually optimistic that this update could bring some good results…
…but I’m running a pocket query right now just in case.

Please get the harvester fixed quickly for us lurkers, if it breaks, although the weather has taken away a lot of action on that front lately. 😉
