Think the update broke the WGA log harvester again…

It appears working again now. Yeah!!

Thank you WGA webmaster(s) behind the magic curtain for keeping this function working after each Groundspeak update!!

because I’ve not experienced this before… does it not go back and re-harvest the whole log or it just picks up where it can?..

ie.. I know that some new caches published this week (Weds I think). When I use the filter for “publish”, the cache I’m thinking of isn’t there. (I like that feature so I don’t have to run a query to see new caches. I just filter and look through the new ones for the day.)

not a huge deal but it makes me wonder what else is missing?

The harvester is strictly a moment in time application. If it misses a log, it is missed.

And it also misses some logs throughout the day because not all are actually on the source page it reads from (and there may be other technical reasons why as well)

It’s not a full-proof system but it sure is handy sometimes…

I appreciate the insight. Just wasn’t sure what to expect or not expect from it. THX!

Didn’t the Recent Logs page used to say something about in times of heavy logging some logs will be missed? We had a day recently where we had 12 logs written and only three were “harvested”.

… by rating system you were referring to terrain/difficulty rating system when submitting a new cache replacing the external “clayjar” system.

I thought for a second that we finally got an actual cacher rating system of caches. 😉

something about souveniers tab on the profile.

will have to see how gimmicky that is once it gets off the ground.

HEY! Did you noitice the “little cacher” icon on the lower map on the cache pages? I clicked on him and got a 360 degree view near GZ! It was a little touchy to get to but it gives a nice perspective on the terrain for a cache.

That feature must have been added for the armchair loggers.

Standard Google Maps functionality and it works way better in the full screen view when clicking on the “Google Map” option in the map section.
