I’ve been logging into geocaching.com for the past week and on occasion, depending on the page, I get an error saying something like it can’t load the website and I get rediredcted to an explorer page for diagnosis. I hit the back button and sometimes it loads the page and sometimes it does not. It happens on various screens on the website, including the main page, when I click “caches (filter finds)”, queries….there really isn’t a method to the madness just that it happens when I’m on the geocaching website and on no other website.
Can anyone enlighten me to what is causing it? It is not specific to my laptop either, any computer that I’m on it has happened on.
Thanks,

Marc are you a Mac user?
03/20/2010 at 2:38 pm #1925645I think Marc uses Mac. I do, and I’m not having any problems.
Is this what you’re having?

About the fourth post down the talk is of problems with Internet Explorer.
03/20/2010 at 2:47 pm #1925646I’m using Firefox 3.6 on a PC with Windows 7 and I have not seen this type of behavior either. Perhaps it’s an Internet Explorer specific thing.

03/20/2010 at 3:50 pm #1925647Son of a gun… I thought I was the only one with this problem. Happens on my work computer and my laptop at home. Both are running Vista and Windows exploder 7. I haven’t heard anything good about Exploder 8 or I would have upgraded to it. Started happening when Groundspeak did the last update. 😥
Dawn03/20/2010 at 7:40 pm #1925648Haven’t had this problem either BQ, but I run a rather unusual computer setup Kubuntu operating system and use Google Chrome for my web browser. My educated guess would be something with IE, you should try Firefox and see if that solves your problem.

Dawn03/21/2010 at 12:58 am #1925650I use a iMAC running Safari.
I also open a Windows environment on the iMAC, and run Opera in that.
Neither ones causes a problem.
03/21/2010 at 1:06 pm #1925651I’ve experience that sort of thing … on any website that I’m doing more than just casual viewing of pages … for about a month now. It’s logical if you sit down to the GC website and keep hitting it with log entries it will appear to be that website. It’s likely a wider spread problem for you, you just don’t know it.
03/25/2010 at 8:29 pm #1925652I to had the same problems with error messages. I ran IE with windows 7.
I down loaded the latest version of FireFox, and have no more problems.
FireFox is a great browser and really like it.03/25/2010 at 9:10 pm #1925653 -
