I have been in contact with the folks who run Mosquito Hill Nature Center and (along with getting permission to place three caches) found they are very receptive to Geocachers! They assisted me in selecting great locations, and are very excited to get Geocachers to visit. I will be running a public information class and intro course on September 22nd at 1:00 pm. I will publish this as an event when I am able. Anyone who wants to attend or simply show to get five loggable caches (event and four permenant caches) please feel free to mark your calendars! Also, I would like to stress that the fine folks at Mosquito Hill are great supporters of the Geocaching community. They quickly realized that our hobby and its followers are a great match for a wildlife center’s mission. They will be publishing this event in their own newsletter and on their website.

I am happy that (unlike a few other organizations) they have “seen the light” in regard to the hobby we all love. Maybe they can be vocal to other nature centers that are more close minded.

Anyone who wants to assist in any way, please contact me at [email protected].

It seems like the folks at the nature center are receptive to geocachers because of the way you’ve been representing the geocaching community. Very nice work in setting up the caches and classes. There are a lot of nice caches in New London. I look forward to finding these soon.
