I am so new to this, that this is the first time I have even considered the topic. I did see that some of the caches I’d researched to search for are in cemetaries and I thought that was cool. I love cemetaries and often go to them just to walk around and explore – I always feel welcomed there by the ‘residents.’ I think most of the rules make sense, especially the ones that apply to behavior while you are physically in the cemetary. I don’t see anything wrong with taking pictures in a cemetary, or going there at night (unless closed, and I guess we could ‘t encourage that.)
(I agree that the cemetary is a really bad place to take a group of 7th graders geocaching. Not any fault of the 12 -13 year olds because they are just being their age and developmental level out there, but possibly setting them, the teachers and the schools up for some negative PR.)
It was a great fall day for geocaching today. We took our 11 year old grandaughter Emma along and she helped to make it a 9 for 9 afternoon including one WSQ. However the highlight of the day was finding a rural cemetery that was cacheless. I didn’t have a cache along, but will return soon to place one. I also have 2 or 3 other cemeteries in mind too. I hid 65 caches before placing my first cemetery cache and now have two. I enjoy reading the logs on all of my hides and thr cemetery logs have all been positive. I’m sure that now I’ll be doing more of them in the future.
