Geocaching maps

This weekend on the map section I viewed what I assume is the new map feature (no list on the side, you had to hover over the cache for name).

Now the maps are back to the old style (listed numbers on the right side). This happen to anybody else? I found no info in the main forums.

I saw the same thing, and really liked it, but it seemed just a little buggy. They might have been doing a test to see how an upgrade will perform. I hope they can figure it out and release it as it was really pretty nice.

Well, it wasn’t exactly a test, at least not in the conventional sense. The new maps were part of a big upgrade. While there were no problems with the maps that I know of, there were other issues which cause the entire upgrade to be rolled back. Once they get all the problems fixed, I’m sure you will see those maps again.

I experienced those “upgrades” while in progress. While editing an upcoming event cache page, the site was continuously slow, and at times not working at all. This totally trashed the code I was writing to the point of losing it all.

There was a bright side to it all, I ended up learning a bit more on HTML code, and reflected that in my cache page. Now I know how to embolden, change the color, and change the text size of links in my own cache pages! Thanks geo-programmers for screwing me up!!! 😉
