I was poking around and discovered this site, developed by a large group of cachers in 2003. In light of recent problems mentioned with caches causing problems of one type or another, it’s worth reading and taking to heart.
As our hobby continues to balloon, it’s good to take a backward look and think about what we’re doing, both as placers and hiders, to help maintain the game and avoid issues.
Just curious to know if any of our charter members had a part in this?
12/02/2010 at 2:31 pm #1939285This is a good reminder of how we should be playing the game and a good opportunity to step back and take a look at your own game play. After reading this creed I felt pretty good about my game play, but I did note at least one area where I can improve.
All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.
12/02/2010 at 4:22 pm #1939286Nice find Gwyn! Perhaps we can incorporate this into WGA education efforts and sharing for new cachers, or even more seasoned ones. Maybe parts of this could be useful for something like information releases to help various media and law enforcement agencies have a better understand of geocaching. Just some thoughts for consideration by our WGA. 💡

12/03/2010 at 1:57 am #1939289Don’t feel bad, I just stopped at the store tonight to buy my wife a birthday card.
Her birthday was last week and I already got and gave her a present, and a card.
On the Left Side of the Road...12/03/2010 at 4:12 am #1939290Oh, now that’s scary! I can actually eat off the senior menu at Perkins, IHOP and take advantage of ShopKo’s senior discount day these days. So I guess I come by my memory loss honestly.
Now John is scary if he could remember my first time posting it and dig it up here! 😯
12/03/2010 at 1:52 pm #1939291I recalled seeing the creed before. Without my seeing eye dog, “Search Engine”, it would have been one more unanswered question piled on top of the mountain. As to particulars, I never can remember who, why, where, what, when. I’ve had my moments. The other day I was at the ATM machine and for the life of me, I couldn’t remember the PIN that I’ve entered 1000’s of times. The phone rings and I have a 2 minute conversation with my dad. Slide my card again and the PIN comes to me just like that.
Sorry for steering the topic off course. There’s a need to heed, read the creed.

Been there…done that 😳 But on the topic, I agree with Sagasu…maybe even have it posted on the WGA website main menu as a reminder to us all 😀
