I have seen some things off and on over the years and reading this part of the geocreed made me think about what I’ve seen…
…Be Considerate of Others
Treat other geocachers civilly – in the field, in the forums, or wherever your paths may cross.
I realize we all encounter things we don’t like or question when out in the field. Maybe it’s the placement. Maybe it’s the cache owner’s rules for logging a challenge. Whatever. It bothers me to see what I’d consider to be bashing of someone’s efforts in public forums, be it on a caching forum, facebook or even in the cache logs. Please keep in mind that these are real people, with real feelings. Whether you like the way they’ve done something or not, you can choose to avoid it, provide constructive criticism in a helpful fashion, or take it up with the reviewers (as they’ve asked us to do) if you have concerns about a placement.
What I might not like someone else might love. What I see as a fun challenge, someone else might see as a joy sucker. As we head into this season of reflection, let’s stop and think about being thankful so many are out there placing things for us to find. We can take these gifts or leave them unwrapped and open up one we enjoy. Thank you.
Amen Sister Gwyn 😉 !
I have taken to heart the words of a Tennessee cacher named Moses. “Thou shalt not sign and whine.” If you’re going to hunt it, if you’re going to log it, be pleasant.
Season of reflection!? 😯 I don’t know about you, but I want to be too busy caching this winter to reflect. 😉 Bring on the pain!
