Is anyone planning a GIFF event in Wisconsin? I’m thinking of having one, but don’t want to crowd anyone else out. Also not sure how soon that would have to be submitted to get approval, aside from the normal 2 weeks for an event.

10/08/2015 at 10:29 am #2043405I had seen that no souvenir was being offered, but just read somewhere else a little while ago that there will be one. It would be fun to host one, but I don’t think we can easily find the right venue. Not sure what our church’s policies on this kind of thing might be. If you do host one, be sure to let us all know….you aren’t all that far from us!

10/08/2015 at 11:04 am #2043407Souvenir was announced on October 6. Submit events to be published as normal; once published, then apply to be GIFF site. One-hour reel of 16 mini-movie finalists submitted to GC from cachers about geocaching. Approved GC events that meet the requirements will get the OK to show the movies and be an official GIFF event for the souvenir.
10/08/2015 at 9:17 pm #2043421A little research and I found that the application to be an official GIFF event is due by Oct 19, so I have a little time to make a decision. So my next question, are there people that are interested? (Besides Trekkin and Birdin)

10/08/2015 at 10:04 pm #2043426I wouldn’t mind attending, depending on the date and time. Location is no problem as long as it’s not after dark or snowing.
10/10/2015 at 5:28 pm #2043458I was planning on driving to the Cities to go to the one hosted by the vlogger.

10/15/2015 at 9:43 am #2043592Just submitted mine yesterday after checking with the owner of the company I look for. I too was planning on going to the Vlogger’s event but after looking at the map and seeing far and few are being hosted thought I’d put one on since I have access to a facility.
10/15/2015 at 12:08 pm #2043595Waiting for permission but look for another GIFF on Sunday, Nov 8th at Horicon Educational Center.

10/15/2015 at 4:27 pm #2043598I am unclear about what we would be viewing. Would I be seeing the same movie if I went to both the Mead event and the Horicon event?
10/15/2015 at 5:29 pm #2043600Yes, Amita…same movie.
10/20/2015 at 5:29 pm #2043770One was just published in Green Bay for November 7th. Not mine, but I thought I would still advertise it here: GC65C86
