GMO does a terrific job with Wausau CITO

Just wanted to add an attaboy for GMO for pulling together an excellent CITO event in Wausau this past weekend. As noted in another thread, it resulted in great press coverage. In addition, 45-50 people had a great time, and tons of garbage was picked up.

I know that there was a lot of other people involved, and they deserve some kudos too, and GMO can mention them if he wants. But I really liked how GMO pulled everything together, and got lots of people involved to make this a first classe event.

Kudos to GMO.

Agreed-Great Job and Great Event

COTM is supposed to be for caches but I nominated the Event for COTM because of how good of an event it was, but also the participation and the fact the cachers involved gave back by cleaning up a number of Wausau Parks. CITO is a great way to give back to the community at large, many people stopped by us to thank us an dour group was just 4 people

Had a great time GMO. Great job on getting the event together. Thanks to all those who helped GMO with temps and cleanup. We got the facility cleaned up in no time flat.

I wish I had gone around and done some before and after photos because it’s hard to grasp just how big a difference the folks who volunteered their time for this CITO made. Even those of us there only saw our own area a and a little of Riverside park that was cleaned. There was an amazing difference made. If this event happens next year we’ll have to haul all the trash back to the park just so we can get a photo of how much was pulled out of the parks and sent to the dump. On top of making the parks so much nicer for the folks of Wausau good press coverage of geocaching helped out the impression of geocaching in the community. All and all it was a pretty good way to spend a day. Nice work GMO.

Congratulations on what I heard was a great event. We’d hoped to be there ourselves, but we had a homeowner’s nightmare to address that day.

Although it would be great if these parks never got messed up, it’s great that folks like GMO are willing to put in the work to organize such a successful event! Hurray!

Fantastic event – thank you so much GMO and WGA for putting it all together. Its nice to be able to give something back after enjoying all these parks for caching and also great to be able to involve the kids in something so worthwhile.
