I sent an email- anytime is good for me and as far south as you need me to go, I can do. Not a problem.
06/10/2004 at 6:04 pm #1737207I own seven caches in Green Bay and Door County. I would, of course, like a couple (or at least one) to plant up here. What I can do is paypal $3.00 for a USPS Priority cardboard envelope, and you could mail it out. Others might want to do the same, and a truly statewide distribution would happen. I would even go to $4.00 for your time. If enough people do this, you could accumulate enough cash for a six pack or even a case…

I’m already going to send a bunch up to Superior area.
I don’t think the jeeps would hold up well in a cardboard envelope. Anything subject to squishing could be a problem. The tags are chained to the roll bars which are made of flimsy plastic. I think they could be damaged unless I stick some spacers in the envelope.
I’m willing to check into the priority envelope. I’ve never used those before so I need to see what they look like. Is it a flat rate of $3.00 ???
06/10/2004 at 6:38 pm #1737209Okay- I got the ten bugs home with me. There will be a few in Appleton possibly today or else tomorrow.
I made a *slight* adjustment to the bug sheet to customize it as a Wisconsin Jeep. Heehee. I printed the bug sheet, then put the page back into the printer. There’s lots of room at the bottom. In fact, just enough for the WGA logo. I opened a new Word document and put the WGA logo at the bottom center of the page and sent it through the printer again so the logo is at the center bottom of the bug sheet.
I’ve only done one so far. I’m heading to the Jeep dealership to see if they’ll let me sit all ten on the hood of a yellow Wrangler and take a picture.

BillBill,
Are you interested in the priority mail option? Checking the USPS website, it looks like it would be about $4.00 to mail them.
Send me an email if your interested in that option.

Grousetales at wi-geocaching dot com06/11/2004 at 3:38 am #1737211I definitely like the idea of putting a Wisconsin Geocaching Assn logo on the bug tag. It might help keep them in our state!
06/11/2004 at 6:54 pm #1737212I’ve been out-of-town and just saw the return of this thread.
I’d be happy to pay for shipping some to the Eau Claire area. Please let me know if any are left.

06/14/2004 at 3:19 pm #1737216Sounds like it was an exciting weekend with distributing TB’s. We took advantage of this weekend to camp in Mirror Lake and hike Devil’s Lake with some friends. All of our friends had never been Geocaching so we took them on the Devils Lake West Bluff cache .
After spending the day hiking all over Devil’s Lake we were pretty exhausted to headed back to Madison. We were going to do a few caches at Mirror Lake but opted to come back in a few weeks to let our bodies recoperate.
I later saw this morning that some Jeep TB’s were placed at some of the Mirror Lake caches. Slightly depressing in missing those But on the bright side, we’ve got a few friends now that are getting into Geocaching and are wanting to track down some of the Jeep TB’s.
If anyone has more of the Jeep TB’s to be placed, I’d highly suggest placing one in the Devil’s Lake West Bluff cache as it is a very big challenge to get to and it seems that 2 other groups over the weekend were not able to find it.

of The Cacheseekers06/14/2004 at 4:00 pm #1737217I was at my nephew’s Illinois State Special Olympic track meet all weekend and missed the jeep fun…if anyone has a jeep to send out I’d love to do that…I’ve gotten a couple of caches ready to go, and have already chosen the sites of their placement (In Southern Rock County). A jeep would be a great addition to a new cache. I can pick it up or pay shipping or get it from a cache whatever works for you…let me know.
06/14/2004 at 5:34 pm #1737218Am seeing many cache logs of jeeps being deposited out here in Washington state. In most cases, someone logs picking them up before they get logged in!
I haven’t found any yet…but I’m not looking that hard either.

06/18/2004 at 5:53 pm #1737219Oh well isn’t that our luck, we made a trip up to the Dells last night to pick up a gift certificate and decided to try the two caches in Mirror Lake that had Jeep TB’s in it since no one had logged it yet. Came to found out that both caches the Jeeps were retrieved from earlier in the day! Worst of all, one of the jeeps is going to be taken out of state
People stealing our jeeps for their own state, how rude
Oh well, we were able to retrieve a regular TB anyways. The mosquito’s were horrible! But atleast we have 2 more finds now

of The Cacheseekers06/18/2004 at 8:35 pm #1737220There will be three Jeep TBs available at the breakfast tomorrow morning for those itching to get their hands on one.
You’ll have to earn it, though…
