have you made any caching goals for 2007?
my first goal this spring is to go out and find all those mystery caches that i have spent time solving, before they become archived.04/03/2007 at 11:27 pm #1872545My goal for 2007 is to complete the Wisconsin Delorme Challenge by the first week in August. And then hopefully get an honorary Wisconsin Geocaching Member title rather than my current ‘friend’ title to mark that accomplisment. I’d also like to be up to 1500 finds by year end.
04/04/2007 at 3:26 am #1872546going for the numbers! Caching as much as I can before June 1..my only goal.

04/04/2007 at 3:37 am #1872548My goal is to get 1000 by 4-29-2007. I am at 981 Now.. I think I can… I think I can… I think I can….
Not sure what is going to be in-store for after the 1K Milestone.

(and clearing enough of my area so I’m forced to do all the puzzle caches)04/04/2007 at 10:28 am #1872550Ours will be the same as last year: To add 500 caches, 5 states and 5 Wisconsin counties.
04/04/2007 at 11:51 am #1872551Mine is to just get out there and enjoy what it all has to offer. The numbers will show up eventually.
But those more driven by numbers I’d like to reach 100 by the years end. Which shouldn’t be to hard to do.
04/04/2007 at 1:15 pm #1872552Our goal at the end of last year was to find a cache in every county in the state of Wisconsin. We already have all the counties along the east side done, and figured with some well planned trips we could get it done and see some areas of the state we had not visited before. After finding out in December that we are going to have a baby we have amended our goals quite a bit, and they don’t include travelling quite that much. 😆
04/04/2007 at 1:24 pm #1872553Our goals are a little more arcane. We’ve come to love virtuals both when home and travelling. The constant example I bring up is the one in Virginia near the Wilderness battlefield that takes you to the grave site of Stonewall Jackson’s arm. People talk about the places they never would have found without geocaching, but how about the places they never would have known to seek? So, we intend to try to find the rest of the remaining virtuals in Wisconsin this year. That’s not saying much, as we have twenty-some left.
The DeLorme is still a goal although we should have that done hopefully this weekend…
Another goal is another bit of an oddity. I’d like to find the rest of the remaining caches that were placed before 2002. While not a rule, they do tend to take us to some more interesting places and/or have nice walks. There are only so many left, and I think we have less than 50 left to find. None of these goals are set in stone, but they’ll definitely add to the pleasure of our caching days.
And of course, the numbers will come… 😉
04/04/2007 at 1:28 pm #1872554We don’t usually set too many goals, but we do have two constant ones:
1) To enjoy caching (duh)
2) To do at least one cache per calendar month. We’ll be hitting the 300 mark sometime this summer, as well as hitting our 5th anniversary of our first find. That right there should tell you that we’re not all about the numbers!
Besides those two constant goals, I’d like if we could make the #300 cache memorable, and maybe hit #350 by year’s end.
04/04/2007 at 1:31 pm #1872555Well put. Probably misquoting, but the old proverb is “The journey is the destination”
04/04/2007 at 2:09 pm #1872556my second goal is nearly complete. early last year, when i decided to stop logging temp finds, i said to a few people that i wanted to delete all the temp finds i had already logged. last nite i edited a few logs to reflect this change. later today i am hoping to make my 1000th unique find, and then i will delete the rest of the temps and bonus caches so my number will be “PURE”.
it’s not about the numbers for me anymore!!!!!04/04/2007 at 2:18 pm #1872557My goals for this year.. Just caching?? ok i’ll just answer that one..
To reach 1000 sometime before the end of the summer have no set date of when its going to get done just sometime this summer..
To make it out to the Rocky Mountains to cache.. that will be fun!
To at least ATTEMPTED a power caching just for the h@ll of it
umm i think thats it.. OH i forgot one
To hold more CITO events this summer…
OH and to see more of the state, like going up North to see the Apostle Islands
I could probably have more but thats all i can think of.. 😆
04/04/2007 at 3:32 pm #1872558We have one goal: To have fun and make great memories while Geocaching! So far, we have managed to accomplish that every weekend.
