What are your geocaching goals for the new year? numbers, challenges, states, counties, etc.
Ours is to complete the D/T challenge
01/01/2011 at 6:45 am #1941149We are hoping to get to 2K and sign our name on the log in GCNMJF .
01/01/2011 at 7:18 am #1941150I’m looking to add some new states and to complete the Triad (Original Stash, Lilypad and Ape Cache).
To get a cache published that has taken me forever and a day to find a good spot for.To double the number of puzzle caches I found last year.
To figure out how many puzzle caches I found last year 😛
01/01/2011 at 1:16 pm #1941151My goals for 2011 are to reach 2000 finds, to add at least a couple states (I’ve only cached in Wisconsin so far), to complete the Wisconsin Rustic Roads Challenge, and to host an event.
All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.
01/01/2011 at 4:18 pm #1941152We always have many goals….
Complete the WRR and Waterfall Challenges
Finish up the Minnesota DeLorme
Place our 100th hide (hopefully fairly soon)
Take part in at least three spring birding trips
Work on some of my scrapbooks
Attend at least one quality fur trade event
Complete the Warrior Dash without injury
Hopefully make our trip to SD and Nebraska to cache and to visit the Museum of the Fur Trade in Chadron…we’ve planned that trip three times the past two summers and something always happensYou may notice some aren’t specifically geocaching, but in a way, they are. Though we cached more steadily this past year, we did meet a goal to not allow geocaching to dominate our worlds so much, and got out, did other things, and some weekends, didn’t cache at all. We hope to continue that trend and do a better job of returning to old interests this year.
BTW, BBG, Lost Falls is well worth the trip. Not only is ground zero breathtaking, but the nice long hike to get there is wonderful. Try doing it in the spring, when the wildflowers are blooming, if you can.
01/01/2011 at 8:46 pm #1941153At the rate I’m going my goal will be to find a single cache in 2011. Doctoral studies will be cornering the market of what used to be known as my free time.
01/01/2011 at 8:59 pm #1941154To hit 1000 by my 1 yr anniversary in May
Finish the Rustic Roads Challenge
The Triad (lucky for me, my sister-in-law & husband live in Portland)
Collect more counties/Delorme pages
Fill in D/T gaps
Get my caching streak to triple digits – should be by end of the week 😆
Keep having fun with the family
Make our Tamale/Caching trip to TX a reality! 😉01/01/2011 at 9:53 pm #1941155Rick, Doctoral studies trumps geocaching goals, IMO. Go you! Where are you doing this, if you don’t mind?
01/01/2011 at 10:52 pm #1941156Get a few more Delorme Pages and Counties
-A trip to the SW part of the state in March and hopefully a camping trip to the NW part of the state in the summer will help with thatGet a few more caches for the NW 12-pack Challenge.
-A trip to Menomonie in late April will hopefully help with that.Get a few more caches for T&B’s How Hungry? Challenge
-Won’t be many, but polish cutie and I will try.Work on the 4-corner Challenge.
-I’ll get the SW corner and hopefully the center.Add a few more states.
-A (cross my fingers) trip to Washington D.C. will do the job.Keep plugging away at the Unique Natural Features Challenge.
Keep plugging away at the Dedicated Cacher Challenge. It gets harder as I deplete my local bank of caches.
No number goals. I’m over 1000 and I never thought I’d even get to this point. I just want to quietly work on some challenges and visit some great caches along the way.
01/02/2011 at 1:12 am #1941157Our goals
1. hit 500
2. cache in Mich.
3. Place a water cache
4. place more caches people hate to find01/02/2011 at 1:58 am #1941158My goals are to finish the first Delorme Challenge and get a good start on Delorme Part Deux.
I plan on adding a few more countries this spring.
Also looking forward to completing the Star Wars Challenge that I have heard about this spring.

When you do this, you will have to let me know! This has been on the top of my must do list for sometime.
01/02/2011 at 5:53 am #1941161Thanks sandlanders!
Looks a bit daunting but what good is a resolution unless you have to work at it!
I think we are up for it although it will take a road trip or 2 or 3 or 6 or…. 🙂01/02/2011 at 6:50 pm #1941162@sandman4182 wrote:
Our goals
2. cache in Mich.
If your heading to Michigan, here’s some interesting and fun goals.
1. Hurley, Ironwood and Bessmer have some great caches related to early mining.
2. Fishing? Lake Gogebic. Few caches but great fishing!
3. Marathon run? The Mandan Road in the Keweenaw Peninsula. ONLY open in the NON-SNOW months. Can you say rural?I’m just starting to reach in to the U.P. and I haven’t been disappointed yet.
My goals? More caches waaaay off the beaten path. Slow to collect but fun to find.
