Google’s purchase of Groundspeak, Inc. and Geocaching.com has positives and negatives. Deeper pockets are always good. But, will we get the attention we need within their vast empire? The new $10 base membership required of everyone, starting July 1, is a good thing because all cachers should contribute to the sport. But, hiking the premium membership to $75, also on July 1, seems a bit extreme. It is good news that we’ll get the google maps back!
It’ll be interesting to see how it all unfolds.

Starting to get tired of these April Fool’s posts.

Nice. But I heard that it’s $75 if only for one year or $150 if you lock in with a three-year subscription. Since today is April 1, that gives us three months to decide. 😉
