I upgraded my Google Earth from 4.xxx to 5.0 and now when I try to display the .kml files for the geocaches, it has some error and has to close. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but the same thing happens.
I also wanted to reinstall an earlier version but it doesn’t look like that is available.

I have Google Earth as well, the free one. If you have it downloaded already have you clicked on properties and checked the tab marked “compatibility”? Just a thought.

I downloaded onto another computer and all is well with it there so I guess it is something with my home system. It looks like time to clean house on the extraneous files to see if there is something there causing the breakdown.

still open to any suggestions on getting this to work……

Other than KML problems what are some other new “features” of 5? Is it worth installing?

New in version 5.0 – you can view older imagery of the earth. Explore the past and see how locations have changed over time.

New in version 5.0 – Record customized tours that you can share with others

New in version 5.0 – you can fly under the surface of oceans adn explore underwater terrain, such as the Davidson Seamount

as well as some other things that are noted that come with version 4.3 or later. I guess it all depends on what version you have to start with if you want to update.
