HELP! That most fun of toys, err, tools, Google Earth with Geocaching KML Overlay is not working. I have reloaded GE several times and tried saving and tried running Geocaching KML from the “my profile” page on geocaching, com. It does not work. I consistantly get an error stating there is a string error in line 1 and asking if I want to abort the search. Anyone have, know of, has found, a workaround or a patch, or a saved copy of Geocaching KML they could email me or direct me???? Thanks.

Oh, yeah. Some KML Overlays will work in it (Like Zuma’s Wheelchair accessable caches) but the main one from Geocaching.com does not. So Google Earth is good.

Assuming you are using GSAK (I seem to remember that you were), there is a nice macro for displaying the current filter/database in Google Earth, which is way more useful than displaying the entire world, IMHO. Here is a link to the macro

    link.

Email me if you need help installing the macro or running it. It is very easy once you get the hang of it.

I have this macro assigned to a button in GSAK, so my process is build the filter list (usually caches along a route or a cache raid), display in Google Earth, order the list using the Usersort field, download to GPS, download to Palm (defining waypoint name as the concatenation of usersort and smart name so that it sorts properly in the palm), hit the trail.
