Looks like the Google Streetview cameras have been through SE Wisconsin…
Stately Cheesehead Manor is on the map, but it looks like it was at a point when nobody was home, as there’s no one outside. It also looks like it happened on a Monday as there’s garbage cans outside.
Can anyone see themselves? Or any other interesting shots around town?
02/13/2008 at 3:50 pm #1884694My best estimate would be they came through Waukesha about the 3rd week of September.
We had a new driveway put in around right after Labor Day and the front yard leveled out. The photo shows the grass in pretty good shape which would have been about that time.
Our neighbors house was sold at the end of September, the for sale sign is still up and the old neighbors car is in the driveway there.
It was not a Friday, that is our garbage day.
Interesting, my parents house in Milwaukee, my Dad is in his car leaving the driveway .. I will have to show him this. It was not a Thursday, that is their garbage day.

02/13/2008 at 4:36 pm #1884696Our office thinks they came through Greenfield around the same time. It was a Thursday, as our secretaries husband is taking groceries out of his car in the photo.
02/13/2008 at 4:56 pm #1884697Woah….my son is in the front yard. This is spooky.
02/13/2008 at 7:34 pm #1884698My wife is cutting our lawn!
Also, I think this will make drive up caches either … as it works for coordinates, of course, too. Like one of my caches (not a spoiler) … GCVMCG = Link Shortened by Admin
02/13/2008 at 8:25 pm #1884699Cool feature! But of course it doesn’t work out in the sticks where I live…

02/13/2008 at 9:04 pm #1884700It works in my “sticks” … which amazed me.
In fact it “spoils” one of my caches, 2 seconds later and an on coming car would have block the spoiling view. Here’s an article that explains how it all works and shows the cool camera they use:

http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/industry/4232286.htmlYep I just had to reword a few things on my virtual cache…the camera shows the spot a bit too well.

It depends on the cache … I have a situation where the fun is spoiled by what you can see from the road … your suppose to drive up and have a big laugh 😆 , not surf the web and have a small laugh 😕 .

Agreed, there are cases (such as this one) where this may spoil the fun.
02/15/2008 at 8:27 pm #1884707This just gives all those armchair loggers an easier way to log our virtuals….I had two German teams log my virtual in this way (and with some Internet research as well)….both were deleted.
