So GPS: The Movie http://www.gpsthemovie.com/ is about to be released (in some form), and the movie is up for private screenings on a movie fund-raising site: http://www.moviepremierefundraiser.com/

What would be the interest in attending a screening of GPS:The Movie (which I hear is really good from a couple of people who have seen it)?
Ticket price would likely be about $10-$15 per seat…..profit if any would go to door prizes or something….

I’m just gaging interest as I have not really looked too deeply into the details of holding a screening.

The movie would likely be held in the Waukesha area…..the date is a wild card.

Location and date would probably be the biggest factors for who goes.

I played the game and would love to see the movie, but kweejee is right in that it would mostly depend on the date and time. Weekend evening would be best for me, but might be able to swing a weeknight provided I had enough advance warning. Will this be a GC event? That could be fun, even though the movie isn’t sponsored by GC.com!

There is a fine line with making it a GC event….we could have a GC event and then all just head over to the movie after the event…I’m fairly sure directly saying this is a GC event to see the movie would be prohibited.

so this is some kinda horror flick? doesnt sound like real good publicity.

It’s an independent film. No big studio backing….it’s a thriller.

Your way would work, Lostby. If geocachers were coordinating the showing as a private showing, that would also be ok. The problem would be if it was an “open to the public” showing, which would create “commercial content” issues. Assuming it is a public showing, the best bet would be to have a meet-n-greet before or after the film at a local establishment or someone’s home.

The trailer looks awesome… I’d certainly see a private screening, but like others have said, date and time would be a major factor.

I am also game. Weekends work out best for me!

At first I thoought you were just joking about a GPS movie. It looks like a fun movie to watch.

It really does look good to me….who knows if it will ever see the light of day though….independent films have a way of going directly to video (if they are lucky).

Two of the 5 Xplorers would be interested. (Doesn’t look like a kids’ movie). Waukesha isn’t far, just let us know when and where.

As with most of the others, it depends on the date, time, and place, but I would definitely try to fit it into the schedule and be willing to drive a reasonable distance.

My wife better not catch wind of this one. She already thinks that we all belong to a cult. Now she will know the truth.
