We have had our kids living in the Ishpeming / Marquette areas of Michigan’s U.P. over the last few years. As a result, we get up there every now and then.
We have been continually impressed with the quality and number of caches. Not only are there a lot of them, they are creatively constructed and put into neat areas. Even the urban caches are pretty cool. There certainly are some typical pill bottle micros, but the vast majority of them which we’ve found show a lot of effort went into the creation and placement.
This is definitely a caching destination worth considering.

Shhhh your giving away our caching places… LOL!! We agree the whole UP is a great place to cache, we get up there as often as we can. The journey to the cache is always great up there eh!

The U.P. is a great place. My great- grandfather started a our family cabin just out of Eagle Harbor in the Keewenaw more than 80 years ago.
I just haven’t had the chance to get back up that way since I discover geocaching. There are caches at a lot of my favorite places up there.
The UP is an amazing geocaching destination. So many scenic places, waterfalls, overlooks, lighthouses…it’s an outdoors paradise. Plus, it seems most scenic spots seem to be accompanied by a geocache! I would recommend the UP to anyone looking for a high concentration of quality geocaches.
