I’m going to cache in Green Bay for the first time. I’ll also have a first timer with me.

So what I need is suggestions of: traditional caches that
have 1 or 2 level difficulty,
that involve no water, swamps, or muk,
have a minimal number of complications.
    Valet parking optional.

In other words, the first hunt should be a success, make me look good and not put off the rookie in any way. [ ]

    I leave at dawn Wednesday.

There are a number of great caches between here and Green Bay. Here are some thoughts on a few you might consider. There are several other worthy candidates as well.

Culvert Cache by TeamPutnam rated at 2.5/2.5 we felt was more like 1.5/1.5. but this one has a special twist. You will be lead to a dead end residential street with a municipal pump-house on the end. The pump-house is disguised as a home. A home with a few differences. Windows are tinted, no drapes. Huge(!) exhaust fan on one end. No mail box. See what kind of story you cane come up with for the amusement of your Newbie friend.

Tenner’s Bug Hotel in Green Bay is the 1/1 you might send a newbie out alone to find. Give a bug a lift.

Thraxman’s classic Cato Car Crash Cache is a must do. 2/2.5

Stairmaster 2002 by The Nelson Team in Manitowoc will get your blood pumping. This is not a drive-by. You will need to hike a little over a mile on Hilly terrain. Rated as 3/3.5 we thought it was closer to 1/3.5.

3/2 in Manitowoc Abe and His Animals is a simple cache in a wonderful park. We thought was more like a ‘1/2. Maybe we missed something.

Thraxman’s Moscow We Have a Problem is a great stop for puzzle solvers as well as history buffs. Manitowoc 1/2.5 3wp multicache.

For a real treat, stop at You Can’t Be Serious in Manitowoc. It is a 4.5/3 but if you have done it before, It could be exciting to a newbie as you coach them through it. This is a four-time(?) nominee for cache of the month. By Team Rusch.

I recommend Fox River Trail Cache. It’s a nice 1/2 mile walk along a bike trail and not extremely hard to find (though not simple). And best of all, I can verify it was still there just 9 days ago.

Treasure Trail – Premium member cache
2 Caches at Pamperin Park are easy enough
    UWGB Campus Trail
    Barkhausen

2 caches I haven’t done yet that are close together and look fairly simple are Little cache on the prarie and A piece of wilderness.

We haven’t done UWGB Campus Trail, Treasure Trail or A piece of Wilderness. I can agree with Miata on the others. Little cache on the Prairie, while it is relatively simple, will require a little more thought than your average traditional. It can be difficult if you are thinking about an average cache in the woods. Swamp Trail can be interesting; go with a friend.

I forgot all about Swamp Trail. Very simple and sometimes interesting parking area.

Thanks for all the suggestions. But due to the rookie’s illness and some thunderstorms, I ended up caching solo in the Appleton area as opposed to doing a duet in Green Bay.

I made a mental note of all the suggestions. Summer aint over yet.
