I’m fairly new to Geocaching and unfortunately I’m the only one in my family that enjoys it.
Looking for other Geocachers in the Green Bay area that would let someone tag along enjoy the hobby together.
12/16/2018 at 9:17 am #2061433Look for notices of any geocaching events held in Green Bay…good opportunities to meet some of the local cachers. I don’t think there’s anything scheduled in the near future but check the Events tab here in the forums occasionally. I’m from Oconto and get to GB occasionally but I’ve found most of the caches there and don’t do much caching there any more. I did most of my caching alone when I first started out…was nice to go out on the spur of the moment. There was always a sense of satisfaction of making the find then that I don’t always have when going out with friends now.

12/16/2018 at 4:18 pm #2061437I don’t know if Appleton is too far for you. But there is usually more geocaching activity down here. Specifically talking about meet and greets, there are a few coming up in the next few weeks. Specifically on the last day of this year and the first day of next year.
Regarding cachers in Green Bay, I know there are some up there. However, I don’t know how many visit the forums.
By the way welcome aboard, alot of people have found this to be a rewarding hobby.
Cache on my friend.

Welcome! Happy Hodag is up in your area. He’s on here a lot. Maybe you can hook up with him. Check out the Thread Stealers Forum as he posts regularly.
Otherwise, like hamfam and bartrod said, there’s usually a good amount of activity just south of you. Great group of people!

12/18/2018 at 12:08 pm #2061461I stand corrected…the Happy Hodag is holding an event at Old Chicago on Dec. 31. That would be a great opportunity to meet some of the area’s cachers.

12/18/2018 at 12:17 pm #2061463Thank you for the info and advice. Appleton isn’t too far by any means so that’s good. I’ll check up on those meet and greets as well!

The Happy Hodag is hosting an event over the New Year. He’s in Green Bay. We should have the events updated later today or tomorrow.

08/20/2019 at 5:36 pm #2063975I just saw this thread again and am surprised i hadn’t responded. I’m still in Green Bay and still caching when I can. I was thinking of getting together with someone else to co-host a GIFF event in the area.
The buck stops here. . .and gets entered into Where's George.
