Hello Wisconsin,
Later this month we will driving through Wisconsin and as always would love to stop off at a few caches along the way and am looking for suggestions. Most likely time for us to stop would be anywhere on the stretch between Green Bay and Iron Mountain (Highway 141). Generally I would like to keep them simple and quick, but if there is something exceptional then we could be convinced to make a detour. NOTE We will be coming up from Chicago via Milwaukee but I am thinking that might be a little early to stop, but again if there are any great caches between Mil. and Green Bay, please do tell!)
Thank you in advance
07/03/2003 at 3:46 pm #1745509Hey, Milwaukee aint no fly-over country. Stop and spend a few days. All our caches are great! Check with Genius Loci, Spyder User, Greenback, and geogeek65.. All Illinois cachers who did just that to log 75+ Milwaukee area caches..
If you want to make your trip short and sweet, please check our recommended caches thread on these boards or Cache of the month here as well.

07/03/2003 at 4:59 pm #1745510There are several up that way that are not too far off of 141. We have a cabin up there and last Memorial Day weekend we did many up that way. Here are some with the waypoint ID so you can search on that:
GC5D59 Tucked-A-Way (this one is mine)
GCG2VK Cedarville Tower (my dad’s)
GC2E9A Letterman Tripped
GCAAA3 Piers Gorge
GC5F1A Waterfall Adventure
Each of the last 3 are in county parks that have beautiful waterfalls to look at (if you have time).07/03/2003 at 7:00 pm #1745511Just thought of another:
GC2FC7 Happy MediumBe sure to read all the logs on this one. I think the posted coordinates may be off. Be sure to read the logs and get the correct ones. This is RIGHT next to the highway at a geographical marker.
07/11/2003 at 2:41 am #1745512There is a lot of construction in Green Bay on Hwy 41. I suggest taking Hwy 43 north if you had planned otherwise. If you go that route, there are several virts in the Manitowoc/Two Rivers area that are not too time comsuming and quite a few in Green Bay proper. “Barkhausen” is a nice one that’s located just north of GRB. Lil’ Otter has a couple in Oconto and surrounding area but that’s a bit east of your route and BantamC has “Bridge over the River Oconto” that’s a little west but is one of my favorites. I live in Oconto and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. I’m very familiar with the area between Green Bay and Crivitz.
How do the Angels get to sleep when the Devil leaves the porch light on?07/15/2003 at 2:28 am #1745513If you take HWY 8 off of 141 for a slight detour west, you can pick up some excellent Wisconsin WaterFall Caches by the Lil Otter.
I did these this past weekend:
GCG5QB WWF #19
GCG5Q2 WWF # 22 &23
GCG5R4 WWF #25
GCG5R9 WWF #29
GCG5QD WWF #30
GC858B WWF # 32Once you get to Iron Mountain you HAVE to try GA93: Mille Hill and G9XY: Bats in Your Belfry.
Here’s hoping you don’t run out of time!
