Kinda new to the area, transplanted from the Keystone State via the Sunshine State. If I make it out caching this weekend I will hit 100 caches in Wisconsin, so time I say Hello, looks like I will be playing in you area for a while.
10/01/2005 at 1:03 am #1758724Hello, and Welcome!
I’m curious as to the differences in caching in WI vs the other states you have been- anything stick out?
10/01/2005 at 1:35 am #1758725Welcome and enjoy the state. See ya on the trails!!
10/01/2005 at 2:21 am #1758726Wisconsin has a lot more natural area for use for more than hunting than PA. City vs Woods is the big difference. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GCJYCH is one of the more unusual but not my taste. Each area developes it’s own flavor. In Jax the do a lot of mirco, and nano’s they seam to think that location isn’t as important as numbers, and hard hides. So far most if the caches I’ve done here WI I have enjoyed, a nice mix of easy hikes with some hard ones mix in. To me the location is the most important thing about caching. Well I rattled on hope I answered your question.

02/25/2007 at 1:27 am #1758728It doesn’t seam like it was any time at all I was saying Hello to the group, and now I find myself having to say good bye. I may be out of the area but WI will remain in my thoughts. I will be taking some good memories and some great friends with me. I just sorry I didn’t get a chance to meet even more of you, who know where I may land next, the life of a nomad.
Lois and as company Scruff-a-pot-amus.
02/25/2007 at 1:44 am #1758729Sorry to see you go. I enjoyed meeting you in Chippewa and thought about your little dog as I wandered a cache in Wausau (in the swamp, but frozen over when I found it) that you had written about your little creature’s problems with. I hope you find yourself playing in Wisconsin dirt again, someday.

02/25/2007 at 3:20 am #1758730Good bye LJ and yer little doggie too!!!!! Say bye to Scruff!!!
One of my highlights of the past summer was the day that I got to go cachin with you north of Antigo. I had a really great time that day, riding in yer ol truck, and Jesse enjoyed meeting Scruff as well. We did some great caches that day, especially the 3 part mult that we met at, that was just awesome, Quiet Waters, I think it was called.
Anyway, once ya get settled, send me your home coordinates, and I will stop by for a day of cachin with ya. I havent cached in WV yet, and it is not that far of a drive from Toledo, which I will probably go back to next fall or maybe next spring, and then I can take a lil drive down to WV. I like your taste in caches, and agree a good cache is all about being in a good location.
Eventually, I will find the right spot for an orange 55 gallon drum cache, that will be the right size for ya to find. 😉 Even though I havent found the spot for it yet, I got the name of the cache picked out: The LJ Special.

03/01/2007 at 10:33 pm #1758734Lj,
We’re sure going to miss having you around here. It was nice to share our campfire with you, Rick, and the Bandits the other weekend. Now that you’re off in a new PQ we can lower all our caches. 😯
03/02/2007 at 12:38 am #1758735Lj is missed Lj you certainly will be missed. However, maybe I’ll get invited to the campfire w/ Rick and the Bandits next time because there will be room for me now. 😆 Keep your eyes open.
