GSAK export data for Pocket Query

Is there a way to export from GSAK a particular data base to GC to generate a Pocket Query?

(Other than doing a time consuming book mark list.)

If so then how?

If you mean that you want to create a filter in GSAK and then create a PQ of the caches in the filter, then no. The only thing you can do is export a .gpx from GSAK and upload it to GC.com.

If you can let us know what you are trying to do, someone might be able to suggest a different way to get there.

What I am looking to do is take a GSAK filter file of some caches I’d like to find and then transfer that to GC for the creation of a Pocket Query.
The GSAK file was formed from opening GPX’s on individual cache pages.

I have done the activity of going to GC –> Bookmark –> PQ –> GSAK —> GPSr and load…….
but now I am looking to switch that sequence where I can generate a PQ from a file that I formed from GC by just “opening” up the GPZ file from a cache page.

There is a macro to generate a bookmark list from GSAK. It is pretty fast, but takes a lot of clicking. I believe it comes with the installation package, and is called bookmark.gsk (go figure!) It does the entire list, but you have to do two clicks for each cache.

I’ve done a bit of a workaround for this. I have a bookmark list of “Solved / Unfound” puzzles and manually keep it in sync with GSAK. What I did recently was generated a PQ for all the puzzles in the area (could also be caches along a route, in an area, etc.). I exported my GSAK list to a GPX, imported it back into a temp database, and then imported the PQ on top. This updated all “my” caches and created a bunch more. I then used the same filter (as my source database in GSAK) to get back to the same list. Then it was a simple export to GPX and then upload to the iTouch.

It’s a few steps but pretty easy to do. In my case the object was to get the latest / greatest info for these caches into my paperless device. Of course depending on the purpose, this method may or may not work for you.

Right answer to the wrong question. I think he is trying to get it available in a PQ so that he can download in the field using a mobile device. The funny thing is that there is functionality on the site for uploading PQs to gc.com. Works good. The only problem is that the program (Iphone app) that is supposed to download them doesn’t work. Regular pocket queries download to the Iphone just fine. When I last talked to Josh about this (I have been a pretty annoying complainer about this bug), he told me they had it working for about a week, and then the latest Iphone software upgrade broke it again. Ack!

I’m not sure about the iPhone or which app, but I use the iTouch with GeoSphere and my process works fine to get the GPX file (i.e. my own self generated PQ) onto my device. I don’t have to upload it to GC.com either.
