If you aren’t already doing so, you may want to be running a Nuvi Paperless Macro to load all the cache info to the unit. This macro loads the caches as custom POI’s with their proper “symbols”. It also allows you to read cache info and past logs from the Nuvi. The Nuvi model has to support custom POI’s. Google Paperless Nuvi to find a “basic approach” and tutorial. Very helpful to understand the concept of custom POI’s on the Nuvi.
However, I have found that this macro:
http://sites.google.com/site/jjreds012/download is much better after using both. It builds upon the basic one with many more features including multiple GSAK database support, categorizing your custom POI’s, controlling distance for notifications, etc.
